So today I ate out with my family at the Baker Street Pub (by which they mean "pub"). Pretty good food, and interesting decor inside, though we ate out on the patio.
So then when I was driving back home and was waiting at an intersection, a lady went by the other direction. She was driving a motor scooter while wearing a sky blue sun dress with really big brown sunglasses and she had very bleached blonde hair styled into a mohawk.
After she went by, I couldn't help but think it was somehow very awesome.

So thanks to [info]ixly_one , I've been somewhat addicted to the online breeding game Aramii lately. Whenever I buy an ami that does not yet have a name, if there is a noticeable theme to the names of its parents, I try to give it a name following the same theme. I recently got one that came from a line of superfluous names like Starry Novicane, Feathered Smile, and Immobile Plaque.

Now, with so many people with so many amis, I can understand wanting to use more elaborate names to make them more original, but I can't help but feel such superfluous names are just silly. Nevertheless, I felt it was only appropriate to give my new ami a similar (ridiculus) name. I was having trouble coming up with one myself, so I sought the aid of a random phrase generator.

Thanks to this generator, I have now compiled a list of Superfluous Names for future use, because there were just too many good ones to let them go to waste:

Multifaceted Cadence
Tamable Tankard
Antiaircraft Toaster
Refillable Slug
Multidimensional Blueprint
Twiggy Hearsay
Defoliated Tuba
Imperialistic Arsenal
Featureless Wardrobe
Quadraphonic Gem
Sorrel Sultan
Unrepentant Juggling
Somnolent Silliness
Mansard Catsup
Expeditionary Baron
Expeditionary Bacon (because I first read the previous one like this)
Wooly Cherry
Inorganic Quilt
Thespian Spawn

I particularly hope for an oppurtunity to use "Tamable Tankard." xD
Oh, and ultimately for the ami in question I chose Quadraphonic Gem.

Question:
Take a Milano (the person, not the cookie). Add lots stress from end-of-term assignments and tests, fatigue from getting up at 4:30 AM and running around a kitchen for 5 hours, and a day with good snowball weather, and what do you get?

This way to the answer... )

Stole this from [info]setra , although I've actually tried and posted this particular meme before. But since it's been two years, I figured it was worth trying again.

I got my schedule for winter quarter today. In January I'll have Artisan Breads, Patisserie, and Planning & Cost Control. In other words, I'll be starting my advanced bread and pastry classes.

Under "instructor" for the first two it still says "0 NF" meaning it's too early for that to be listed, but I happen to know they're taught by Chef Winter, the top pastry chef in the school who has a well-earned reputation for being very skilled, and very strict, as I experienced last quarter in my intro pastry class. (He doesn't normally teach intro because his standards are too high >_>; )

What's odd is my schedule has Chef Winter listed as teaching my planning & cost control class as well. I don't think he actually teaches that class, so it's probably a computer error 'cause of the other two classes above it.... but I'm not 100% certain.

If he does teach that class, then for my Winter quarter I'll truly be walking in a Winter Wonderland.........

So, preparations are almost complete. For those who haven't heard, I'm finally doing something about Morty, my laptop, and all the issues he has. Issues such as not burning discs properly, not reading most data discs properly, hating most wifi connections, taking a hell of a long time to start up, etc. The dude we talked to at Geek Squad said it didn't look like it was being caused by viruses (not to say there aren't any >_> ), and is most likely some error in the... uh... I forget the term but in the drivers or how it operates or something like that.
So.
The best way to fix it is to completely reformat the computer and start again from scratch. If this doesn't fix the problems, then there's something wrong with a hardware. (We could've had then run a hardware diagnostic while there, but that would've cost like $200. Or was it $150? Either way, expensive.

Thus, I finally got issues with Hypopotamus, my external hardrive (that hasn't worked since the week after I got it back in like, January or February >.>; ) all sorted out. Which is to say, he's been replaced by Hypotholemew, my new external hardrive that's exactly the same kind. (My mom's idea. She going to see if she can return the old one using the new receipt...... Even if it doesn't work, less hassle and probably cost than calling the manufacturer and then paying for shipping it to them to fix/replace and waiting to get it back)

So now I have backed up most of the things I want keep from my computer, figured out how to backup bookmarks from firefox, saved the installer files for several programs I have that I want to keep, and located the disks for the other essential programs I can't download.
Legally.
(I don't care how outdated it is, I love my Photoshop Elements 2.0!)
I even took all the files I left back on my parents' computer so I can have all my files and then some. (I didn't download any more games or manga or anything.... nooooooo.... <.< ... >.> ... <.< ) And tested to be sure Hypotholemew would indeed work on other computers, since it won't recognise/be recognised by Morty after the reformatting.

So, (this makes four times I've started a new paragraph this way) now that I have all of that taken care of, tomorrow I shall set about reformatting poor Morty. Now my biggest dilema is after the reformat, will it still be Morty? Or should I come up with a new name? Maybe Morty 2.0?
Farewell, old Morty! I loved-ed you! May you get through this safely!

I reeeeeaaaaally don't like waking up at 4:30 in the morning. Soooo cold at that hour, and then soooo hot when I come back from Denver. Carrying around winter coat is inconvenient...
Also makes for sleepy Milano for rest of day. Unless additional caffeine is consumed. Then hyper-yet-dead Milano. BUT IT'S ONLY THE FIRST WEEK! If I was able to live on an inverted schedule for the seven months I worked at Breadworks, I can do this for 11 weeks!

Mmmm.... coca-cola....

For a while now I've been thinking that it would be nice to have access to a sewing machine. I figure if I did, then it would be easier to motivate myself to work on some of the project ideas that bounce around my head. Unfortunately, I have had neither the space nor the money for one, so it hasn't been possible.

So yesterday I went to Savers to look for a couple of things for NDK. I was hoping to find maybe a good white vest, maybe a fitted shirt if they had any plain ones, and possibly a very large shirt or light jacket with long striped sleeves.

I didn't end up finding any of these things, but it was still a very successful trip.

No, really! It's amazing the little facts that pop up there from time to time. Like tonight, there was this:

Here's an interesting fact about Turkey: there's a festival in the city of Edirne concerning men pouring oil on themselves and wrestling half-naked.

Something about my LJ is different.... hmmm..... what could it be~?
I know what it is, but I wonder if anyone else'll notice...
>.>

So, in other news, only three more weeks of school and then my first quarter at AiC will be done! Yeeee~y!!! Though from some of the stories I've heard, this is likely the only quarter I'll have such laid back chefs as teachers. ^^; Especially in my pursuit of pastry...

Also, I have hereby decided that if I can find a job before the 18th of June, I will buy the new B'z ULTRA Pleasure album which comes out that day, even though I already have most of the songs on it. If I don't find a job by then, I'll just wait to get ULTRA Treasure when it comes out instead. (Well, actually I plan to get the latter either way).
Just an extra way of motivating myself to get going on finding a job sooner rather than later.

EDIT: No, the change isn't that I've added tags to a lot of my old entries. Though that is a change too...

So I'm reading through a list of nerdy pick-up lines... There are some that are really bad, some that are so bad and nerdy they're funny, some that might actually work on me, and then there's this one:

"My love is like communism; everyone gets a share, and it's only good in theory."

This killed me dead with laughter. xDD

I BEAT IT!
It only took... 103 hours of my soul. Not including all the times I died and had to go back to the last time I saved....*twitch* stupid cheap instant death attacksgrumblegrumblegrumble....

The boss was really awesome-looking. Makes me think how awesome a cosplay of it would be, though it'd be hell to make. I definitely want to cosplay the main character sometime.
But yeah. Game done now....

. . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . .Well, i think I'll go play through it all again now...
*ducks from people ready to maim her* It's ok! It can't suck out as much of my soul again! It lets you keep lots of stuff from your first playthrough so it's much easier and takes much less time! Equipment, pokemans personas, money, even the main chara's level!

But... I suppose I should get to those NDK pics first....
